How to Begin

Here are five steps to help you begin your project before you meet your Chris’s Custom Cabinets Designer.

1.      Have a Good Idea of What You Want. -Entering a showroom with little idea of what you want can make for a very long frustrating design process. What is the main reason you want to remodel or build a new home? Do you need extra space or just want to improve your living space?  Is your kitchen efficient? Are you happy with the traffic flow through your kitchen? Is there more than one cook? Do you entertain and need more space? What are your options; can you move any walls or is there enough room to redesign a new floor plan in an existing space? What do you want most in your new kitchen or bath?

2.      Create a Scrapbook of Notes, Photos and Articles.   -Read magazines and books to get ideas and looks that appeal to your taste. Create a scrapbook to show your kitchen designer. Remember, pictures are worth a thousand words.

3.      Determine Your Budget.  -Establish your priorities and determine where to best spend your money.  Come up with a budget you can live with. What is the total amount you are willing to spend? Are you willing to borrow money for your project?

4.      Draw a Rough Sketch of your Floor plan.  -Take measurements or if building, get the floor plan from your architect or builder. Sketch in any furniture that may be important to you.

5.      Contact Us.  -Email or call us to make an appointment, or just stop by one of our showrooms.  We’ll help you through the rest.
